How to Measure
Measure the full wall at its widest and highest points, including doors, windows, sloped ceilings, stairs, cabinets, mirrors, electrical sockets, and other fixed features. Enter your exact wall width and height. Our production team automatically adds a 2-inch (5 cm) safety margin for precise trimming, ensuring a perfect fit during installation.
For unusual walls or additional examples, follow our wallpaper measuring guide.

Installation
Simple steps for the best long-lasting results
PREPARE THE WALL
Ensure the wall is clean, dry, smooth and stable. Remove dust, grease, loose paint and old wallpaper. Repair any holes or cracks.
CHECK PAINT
The paint should be fully cured (minimum 3–4 weeks). Use a matte or eggshell finish. Avoid fresh, damp or peeling paint.
ALIGN & APPLY
Check the panel order and pattern alignment, then apply each panel carefully with a soft smoother to remove bubbles and secure the edges.
DRY & SET
Allow the wallpaper to set for 24–48 hours. Avoid washing, heavy cleaning or placing items against the wall during this time.
ROOM CONDITIONS: Install wallpaper in normal room conditions on a clean, dry, smooth wall with fully cured paint. Avoid very cold, hot, humid, damp, or freshly painted surfaces for the best long-lasting result.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where should kitchen wallpaper not be installed?
Do not install it in direct water, heavy-grease or high-heat zones, including unprotected areas immediately beside sinks, cooktops and other heat sources.
Is XWALLX kitchen wallpaper waterproof or greaseproof?
No standard decorative wallpaper should be treated as a waterproof or greaseproof surface, so use it on dry feature walls outside direct splash and cooking zones.
Can kitchen wallpaper be installed over tile or visible grout lines?
The surface must be smooth, stable and properly prepared; uneven tile or grout lines may show through and should be levelled before a sample adhesion test.
Which XWALLX material is easiest to clean in a kitchen?
Commercial Wallpaper supports frequent cleaning with mild soap and water, while Peel & Stick and Non-Woven materials are intended for occasional damp wiping.
How should I measure around cabinets, sockets and appliances?
Measure the complete wall as a rectangle and identify cabinet, socket, hood, shelf and appliance positions during proof review rather than subtracting them.
Can Peel & Stick wallpaper be used in a rental kitchen?
It can suit a smooth, clean and properly cured painted wall away from heat, water and grease, but removal results depend on the paint and wall condition.
