How to Measure
Measure the full wall at its widest and highest points, including doors, windows, sloped ceilings, stairs, cabinets, mirrors, electrical sockets, and other fixed features. Enter your exact wall width and height. Our production team automatically adds a 2-inch (5 cm) safety margin for precise trimming, ensuring a perfect fit during installation.
For unusual walls or additional examples, follow our wallpaper measuring guide.

Installation
Simple steps for the best long-lasting results
PREPARE THE WALL
Ensure the wall is clean, dry, smooth and stable. Remove dust, grease, loose paint and old wallpaper. Repair any holes or cracks.
CHECK PAINT
The paint should be fully cured (minimum 3–4 weeks). Use a matte or eggshell finish. Avoid fresh, damp or peeling paint.
ALIGN & APPLY
Check the panel order and pattern alignment, then apply each panel carefully with a soft smoother to remove bubbles and secure the edges.
DRY & SET
Allow the wallpaper to set for 24–48 hours. Avoid washing, heavy cleaning or placing items against the wall during this time.
ROOM CONDITIONS: Install wallpaper in normal room conditions on a clean, dry, smooth wall with fully cured paint. Avoid very cold, hot, humid, damp, or freshly painted surfaces for the best long-lasting result.
Frequently Asked Questions
What makes a wallpaper design Japanese-style?
Japanese-style murals often include elements like cherry blossoms, cranes, waves, mountains, koi fish, or minimalist brushwork. They may focus on harmony, balance, and nature—offering a peaceful and artful aesthetic.
Can Japanese wallpaper work in modern homes?
Yes, it can be a beautiful contrast. Pairing traditional Japanese motifs with clean-lined furniture and neutral palettes may create a calm, balanced look—especially in Japandi or minimalist spaces.
Is Japanese wallpaper only available in bold colors?
Not at all. Many Japanese murals come in soft tones like beige, blush, misty blue, or charcoal. These options might offer subtle elegance without overwhelming the space.
Where does Japanese wallpaper look best?
It could work well in bedrooms, living rooms, entryways, tea corners, or meditation spaces. These murals often bring a sense of flow and stillness, making them ideal for relaxing or reflective environments.
Can I mix Japanese wallpaper with Scandinavian decor?
Yes. This pairing is actually the essence of Japandi style. A Japanese mural with simple nature scenes may blend effortlessly with light woods, soft textiles, and functional design.
